Jessup is passionate about reaching our local community both with the Gospel and for the benefit of the people of Rocklin, Roseville, and the greater Sacramento area. We have ongoing partnerships with ministries ranging from children’s aid to helping meet the immediate needs of the homeless community and everything in between. You will find all our ongoing partnerships listed below, as well as other service opportunities that are made available to the Jessup family.
WHY WE SERVE LOCALLY?
Earn Spiritual Life Credits
Serving with any of these organizations can count towards Spiritual Life Credit. Please complete a Spiritual Life Credit Form online and include your outreach supervisor’s contact information. We will send an email to your supervisor to verify your service. Once their verification is received, the report will then be looked over by a Campus Ministries Representative and approved if the requirements and regulations are met.

Serve Day w/ Convoy of Hope
Over 200 Jessup students came together and packaged 2,500 bags of food and cleaning supplies that were distributed to local food banks. These bags helped serve refugees, low income families, and homeless people in need of supplies at this time in their lives.

Steiger Impact Day
Steiger Impact Day was one to truly remember! Students and community members gathered at Jessup to worship and be trained on how to share the gospel through creative evangelism. The stories heard and connections made allowed for some people to accept Christ into their lives, plant seeds, and feel seen and heard by God who loves them dearly.

Vitalant Blood Drive
Our fall blood drive was a success! With each pint it helps make a difference to people who are in critical need for blood that may be battling cancer, having surgery, or have severe injuries.

Greenhouse Garden Work Day
It was a full morning of cleaning up Greenhouses’s educational garden for kids in the neighborhood! From p[ulling weeds to fixing up planter boxes, it was a fun time serving the community in a unique way.

Hope on the Horizon 5k
The Hope on the Horizon 5k Fun Run gathered over 200+ volunteers and participants for an amazing cause! This event gathered the community together to support and raise over $8,000 for breast cancer research.

Salt Mine Food Pantry
Our Salt Mine service day was a record breaking outreach! Students gathered to serve and package grocery boxes. Nearing Thanksgiving many families were in need of extra support during the holiday season and these students were able to serve and pass out supplies to over 130 families! This was a Salt Mine record and we loved coming alongside them to serve.

The GreenHouse
The GreenHouse is a youth focused community center located in the Gardenland Northgate neighborhood of North Sacramento. They offer holistic programming for youth from 1st to 12th grade. They offer after school programs, youth groups, summer camps, and a leadership development program for the teens.

The Salt Mine
The Salt Mine is a faith-based charity that serves its local community in various aspects, with a focus on homeless ministry. Come volunteer in either the food closet or the thrift store ministry.

Conversations to Remember
Volunteers meet virtually (via video call) on a weekly basis with a senior living in a long-term care community. Our Mission is connecting older adults, including those living with cognitive decline, with young adult college students to combat the epidemic of social isolation and loneliness.

The Salvation Army
Help tutor kids in the community academically. This program is open Tuesday & Wednesday, 3 pm-5 pm by appointment based on the student’s schedule and our tutor availability.

Refuge & Strength
Refuge and Strength was founded in 2020 following 18 years of experience with international and intercultural humanitarian aid, and program development. They strive to see those who have come here as refugees make their dreams reality, and to truly be at home here in their new country.

Arab American Learning Center
The Arab American Learning center exists to meet practical, physical, and spiritual needs of the Sacramento refugee community and build a bridge with the love of Christ.They host soccer games and a Bible study on Wednesday nights

NorCal Refuge
With 10,000 Afghans arriving within 12 months, our data suggests that there are more than 1000 Afghan families in Sacramento and the Bay Area that are struggling to find their way in their newfound homes. This influx represents a crisis that is more than existing agencies and organizations are able to stabilize in the critical first six months. Our plan is to supplement the good work already being done to ensure these at-risk families get what they need for a stable start with good news.

Union Gospel Mission
The Union Gospel Mission, provides 8,200 meals every month. As well as distributing clothing and toiletries to more than 1,300 people and shelter for 84 men every night.
